J Vineyards & Winery Launches new Website With Enhanced Educational Information and Wine Pairing Recipes

newJsiteheaderJ Vineyards & Winery unveiled a new website this week. The site reinforces Founder and President Judy Jordan’s vision to focus exclusively on J’s two luxury houses—J Sparkling Wines, in its twenty-third year of production, and J Vineyards varietal wines, producing expressive Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris which reflect the essence of their 10 estate-owned Russian River Valley Vineyards. The new site also invites visitors on an interactive tour of the Russian River Valley with educational information on winemaking, and several wine pairing recipes created by J’s Executive Chef Mark E. Caldwell.

In early 2006, Judy Jordan brought onboard Sonoma County winemaking expert George Bursick as Vice President of Winemaking, John Erbe as Viticulturist, and Kathryn Lindstrom as General Manager/Chief Financial Officer to elevate J Vineyards & Winery’s position as a leader in Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With the evolution of the winery’s varietal portfolio, it was decided to distinguish the J Vineyards varietal wines. The iconic yellow “J” logo will continue to grace the “J Sparkling” bottle, and the varietal wines are now under the “J Vineyards” label.

The site’s interactive maps pay homage to Jordan’s vision by giving special emphasis to J’s diverse soils, trellises, rootstocks (9), and clones (14 clones of Pinot Noir, 10 clones of Chardonnay, 3 clones of Pinot Gris) grown on each of J’s ten diverse hillside and valley floor vineyards, based in the Russian River Valley. “Since George Bursick joined J as winemaker in 2006, he has implemented dramatic improvements in our varietal wines, and we felt it was important for the website to reflect this renewed sense of purpose,” says General Manager Kathryn Lindstrom. “We also want the site to capture the spirit of what the J Visitor Center set out to do when it opened in 1999, by offering educational information, recipe pairings, and merchandise in J’s signature elegant style.”

With a fresh look and easy to navigate layout, the website encourages visitors to explore its content by offering exclusive educational information, merchandise and entertaining ideas to enhance the J Visitor Center or Bubble Room experience at home. A highlight of the revamped site is a new section featuring original recipes by J’s in-house Executive Chef Mark E. Caldwell, all of which pair harmoniously with J’s sparkling and varietal wines. Some of the stand-outs include Caldwell’s delicious Prawns with Spicy Peanut Sauce paired with J Vineyards Pinot Gris, and Braised “Painted Hills” Beef Short Rib Parmentier paired to J Vineyards Pinot Noir. The recipes are accessible from J’s homepage by clicking on the Entertain” tab on the main menu, directly through the following link: jwine.com/Entertain/Recipes/
