Guide to Starting with Twitter for Business

Although Twitter has been around since 2006 and has gained incredible popularity over the last year, there has always been at least one major obstacle holding it back from being as quickly adopted as other social networks like Facebook. That obstacle is both its weakness and its strength because Twitter is a very different type of social network. Its focus on brevity, site specific syntax, and open ability to “follow” anyone  (in contrast to networks like Facebook which you need to send “friend requests” to connect with others) takes some time for mainstream users to appreciate.

Twitter staff have recently recognized this and are in the process of making the service easier to understand and adopt.

In the meantime I have posted slides from my recent presentation about Twitter, how businesses can/are using it, and steps to get started. I hope it is useful for you or anyone that you know. Have specific questions? Post them in the comments below.
