Members collaborate for greater success

"It’s a classic example of collaboration between members," said Al Spector, owner of Marin Sailing School. With an introduction from The Luxury Marketing Council, Spector met Linda Viviani, CEO and Founder of Viviani Destination Management, and the two savvy entrepreneurs immediately appreciated an opportunity to combine efforts and to create a new experiential offering for their clients.

As a result, Viviani and Spector have successfully collaborated on a number of offerings specifically geared toward the growing luxury adventure travel market. Viviani also included The Marin Sailing School in one of its 2007 packages submitted to Neiman Marcus’s exclusive customer-recognition program, In Circle. The Neiman Marcus inclusion is a smart marketing move for Spector and creates a direct connection for the emerging company and the clientele who seek him.

The Marin Sailing School began offering instructional classes with the ‘06 season, and Spector, a seasoned corporate executive, was already running a successful grass-roots marketing program. However, by teaming with Viviani, his school has immediate access to a client base that perfectly fits his target market -- high-end luxury consumers. “It validates and enhances the luxury brand that I've been building,” said Spector.
