While a few wineries are already actively marketing to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) marketplace, most remain ignorant as tothe size, scope and potential of this lucrative niche audience.

The Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco is delighted to present two of the country’s leading experts in LGBT marketing to:

  • Review current research and trends on the LGBT consumer
  • Learn best practices in marketing to this discriminating buyer
  • Explore the most effective channels of marketing communications and outreach, including web, mobile and social media

In addition, the presentation will highlight the buying power of the LGBT community and identify opportunities that wineries can pursue and pitfalls that they can avoid in reaching out to this market.

About the LGBT Market:

  • Urban, highly-educated, and heavily-disposed to purchase the finer things in life
  • Significant disposable income

Everything you need to know about the who, what, when and why of the Bay Area’s most significant event of the decade

Wednesday, March 21st
6.00 – 8.00 PM

SCHEDULE:
5.45-7.00: Registration and light lunch
7.00-8.00: Presentations and Q & A

While the local media has done an admirable job of keeping everyone apprised of the major decisions and implications surrounding the America’s Cup World Series in 2012 and the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup in 2013, the details remain somewhat murky to the average business outsider. Many of the complex planning issues involving fund-raising, sponsorship sales, visitor transportation and lodging, traffic flow, etc. are still at the incubation stage. For the luxury marketer, interested in the planning behind the event, and the attendant business opportunities that it presents, information is everything.

In this detail-driven presentation, representatives from the City of San Francisco and the America’s Cup Event Authority will present an overview of AC34 (the 34th America’s Cup), discuss details of race-planning and respond to extensive Q&A on all matters relating to planning and execution of the event.

“The Customer is Always Right?” Wrong!

Wednesday, February 22nd
6.00 – 8.00 PM

The haughty retail salesperson; The indifferent restaurant waiter; Cattle car airline service; And interminable voice answering trees. The litany of service crimes that contributes so mightily to customer angst, frustration and pain continues unabated. With this most recent recession prompting machete-like slashes in employee training and the replacement of experienced, more expensive staff with younger, cheaper hires, the ultimate victim has been the customer. And luxury brands have not been immune from the trend or the practice.

Yet, as most companies know, but only the smart ones put into practice, committing to superior customer service is one of the few universally-employable business strategies that delivers exponential monetary gain coupled with unassailable competitive advantage, not to mention the side benefit of a happy staff.

In this commencement address for 2012, Alf Nucifora, Chairman of The Luxury Marketing Council chapters in Northern California, Las Vegas and the Pacific Northwest draws on his prior experience as a nationally-recognized customer service consultant and the knowledge gleaned from his interface with more than 150 Luxury Marketing Council members to deliver a manifesto that reminds us of the fact that the customer is always right…all of the time! Nucifora supports this lively and challenging address with facts, statistics, trends, anecdotes and unpleasant experiences to make his case and support what he considers are the immutable laws that guarantee customer contentment and brand loyalty.

A Benefit for Canine Companions for Independence

$15 Admission

Friday, February 3rd
5.30 – 8.30 PM

On February 3rd 2012, fashion history will be made. San Francisco’s most fashionable pooches will strut their stuff on the catwalk, (or is it dogwalk?) as they showcase couture outfits designed specifically for them by some of the Bay Area’s most prominent interior designers, and with oh-so-fabulous fabrics provided by the fabric showrooms of the San Francisco Design Center. Trust us, you’ll be howling with delight at the antics of these doggie fashionistas.

Canine fanatics will be able to shop Posh Pup Lane, an emporium of doggie delights featuring unique canine products, services, specialties and gift items for the pooch who has everything. And the truly obsessive can walk their dog, in a custom or off-the-rack ensemble, in the runway show for a small runway fee.

To cap it off, a silent auction will feature doggie experiences never before witnessed in the annals of Dogdom. Be a bold bidder as we support Canine Companions for Independence, the event’s official charity and an organization that provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children, adults and veterans with disabilities, free of charge.

But that’s not all. This ain’t no “biscuits and water” affair. Savor the sensory food delights offered for your tasting pleasure by leading San Francisco restaurants and caterers, and bar offerings featuring the trendiest cocktails and the finest wines from the wineries of Sonoma County.
