Che Bella!
Explore, Swirl, and Sip the Regions and Wines of Italy

November 6th
6.00 - 8.00 PM

When it comes to wine, Italy ranks as a global leader in every respect. In quality, variety, value and popularity, Italian wines know few peers. And yet to most wine-drinking San Franciscans, steeped in California wine heritage, Italian wines are, for all intents and purposes, an unknown quantity. What a travesty!

The Luxury Marketing Council of San Francisco is about the address the problem; enlighten the mind; and enliven the palette. In this entertaining, informative and tasty program we explore two of Italy’s most prestigious regions that are gaining highest acclaim among the hippest restaurants and fashionable sommeliers—Trentino and Friuli. Trentino competes with the noted Champagne region of France; Friuli goes head-to-head with Burgundy.

Come listen, learn and taste. School has never been this good!

The Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden

The community of Napa acquired 30 tons of steel - pieces of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after the Port announced it would offer steel artifacts to any non-profit entity worldwide, interested in creating September 11th memorials.

In a public-private collaboration, local artist Gordon Huether was asked to design this monumental memorial, becoming the focal point of the 9/11 Memorial Garden. Constructed  from the recovered remnants of the World Trade Center, the Napa 9/11 Memorial honors the victims of terrorism and all who risk their lives to save others. This place of reflection is meant to inspire us to continue to express the courage, caring and compassion our world experienced that day.

The Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden is located across from the historic Napa Valley Opera House, 1030 Main Street, Napa, CA 94559.

“It was just a matter of time, said San Francisco artist Ann Rea, “just as cooks and singers have fascinated audiences with their creative processes, now I, as a painter, have taken an innovative approach to my craft.”

Ms. Rea’s entrepreneurial art project takes something as ordinary as a vineyard filled with growing vines and reproduces the setting in a series of studies featuring richer, bolder paint color, defined use of shadows and the magical sun-light of the Northern California wine country.
